They must be integrated into the Jaguar's database keys, which is usually done by a dealer or locksmith. Tibbe Keys
Some Jaguars from the 1990s used keys that were called the Tibbe key. These require special equipment create because they feature flat cuts that are precisely angled on four different sides. These keys cannot be interchanged with regular keys, and the majority of locksmiths don't have the equipment needed to cut them. This can result in long wait times for owners who require replacement keys. Dealerships can also cut these but charge a substantial amount.

The lock itself is fascinating, as it is comprised of 6 or 8 rotary discs that must be properly aligned in order for the sidebars to fall into place and unlock the trunk or door lock. This is done using a specially-designed pick/decoder tool that appears like a drill, and the process can be challenging. It is important to keep in mind that this tool must only be inserted into the DOOR lock, never the ignition or trunk locks in this manner. Doing so will likely cause it to jam and break.
There are only a handful of locksmiths who specialize in Tibbe keys production, and their prices differ based on a variety of factors, including time, effort, the cost of equipment and consumables etc. The adapter kit for specialized keys required to work with these kinds of keys can cost a few hundred dollars, and each must be crafted by hand (or a skilled programmer can do it on an electronic key machine) for each new key made.
